ABOUT SARAH
WHO I AM
I am a firm believer that life makes more sense when you're living in accordance with your values and priorities. There is nothing more soul-crushing than trying to be someone you aren't and trying to live up to someone else's expectations. I've spent a lot of time as a professional in the mental health field, and time and time again, the clients who walked away happiest are the ones who were able to articulate what's important to them and make changes to allow those priorities and values to permeate all areas of their lives. So that's what I love to help people figure out how to do I really believe that unless you can figure out how to live your life in alignment with who you really are, you're going to stay stuck. So who am I? I'm the person who's here to guide you out of the darkness you're living in as we realign your daily life to match your identity as a person.
WHAT I DO
I provide therapy for individuals and couples struggling to connect with themselves and with those closest to them for a variety of reasons. Typically, I work from a Cognitive Behavioral framework, which is a shorter-term therapy model designed to produce symptom relief relatively quickly. I also offer EMDR therapy to help clients process disturbing or distressing life experiences. I believe that you as the client need to be actively involved in deciding on goals for treatment, so together we figure out what the problems are at the outset of therapy and what you'd like to see instead in order to track progress. My goal is to help you clarify a vision for the future and help you consider what changes need to be made in order to achieve that vision. One of my passions includes working with clients experiencing perinatal mood disorders (postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, etc.), and the certification and special training I've received in this area allows me to support clients fully as they walk through this very real struggle. I also love working with couples of all kinds and stages, from premarital counseling to infidelity and communication issues and beyond.
